Simulation of the Future based on the History

The new version 6.1.0 of the model includes a new option that allows simple extrapolation into the future based on the previous year.

To perform such a simulation we need climate data from a complete year. So we can assume that we have data from December 2018 to December 2019 but we want to simulate also part of 2020.

Typical example is that we would like to make prediction for the next year based on the assumption that the climate for a specific day will be the same as for the last year.

With the new version we can specify a Date after the EndDate of the simulation.

This date is called PostPeriodDate.

Note that the End Date of the normal simulation period correspond the end of the Meteorological input file.

The result of such a simulation will be a simulation that use actual data from October to December 2019 for the simulation period and then data from December 2018 to February 2019 for simulation the postperiod.

This simulation can later on (continously when new data arrives be updated to simulate actual current time).

The Switch Apply Simulation Period from Sim File can actualy be used to change the simulation period automatically when the new updated climate file is ready.

Hopefully this will be useful for any one that do not want to wait for the next year but are eager to say

something about the next year already today.

With this it will be good to wish a Happy New Year !!!
