Many people have been involved in the development of the CoupModel throughout the last 20 years. Only the most important will be mentioned below.

In the initial phase of the work, Per-Erik Jansson and Sven Halldin made substantial contributions, which is reflected in the early reports (e.g. Jansson & Halldin, 1979). During later years, many users of the model have contributed with ideas and suggestions that have resulted in model improvements. For instance: Lars-Christer Lundin and Manfres Stähli concerning frost in the soil; Bo Thunholm and Gunnel Alvenäs concerning soil surface temperature; Ghams Alavi. Peter Boterweg, Emil Cienciala, Bengt Espeby, Annemieke Gärdenäs,  Christer Jansson, Holger Johnsson, Malcolm McGechan , Nicholas Jarvis, Gunn Persson, Christina Toms-Hjärpe, Elisabet Lewan, Anders Lindroth, Annika Lundmark and Magnus Svensson concerning various parts of the model. Per-Erik Jansson and David Gustafsson have developed the snow related processes. David Gustafsson has also made substantial contributions on the atmospheric related parts, especially the stability correction and formulation on radiation interception in multiple stands. The nitrogen and carbon model originates from the model presented by Holger Johnsson, Lars Bergstöm, Keith Paustrian and Per-Erik Jansson (e.g. Johnsson et al, 1987). It was further developed by Henrik Eckersten. In later years Tryggve Persson, Karin Blombäck, Annemieke Gärdenäs, Louise Karlberg, Leif Klemedtsson,  Josefine Norman, Marco Ravina and Per-Erik Jansson have also contributed to the carbon and nitrogen model. Anton Shkaruba has developed tools with connections to the MultiRun features of the model.  David Moon has been active in the development of the technical parts of the model, which is reflected in the paper by Jansson and Moon (2001). Louise Karlberg developed the major part of the documentation system during the years from 2001 to 2004.
